The Powhatan County Board of Supervisors, through sound fiscal management, strives to maintain a low tax rate on the county’s citizens and employers. The taxes are evaluated each year along with the county’s budget and are adjusted as needed.
As of January 2010, Powhatan’s tax rates are as follows:
Personal property--$3.60 per $100
Real estate--$.77 per $100
Machinery and tools--$3.60 per $100
